Beyond the reviews — we'll share what owners love and the trade-offs to know.
The Altair Shaia measures 66.9 inches long x 31.5 inches wide x 28.7 inches tall, with a dry weight of 77 lbs. When filled to capacity, the total weight (tub plus water) is approximately 519 lbs. These dimensions make it a substantial centerpiece suitable for spacious master or guest bathrooms.
No, the faucet is sold separately. This is intentional, giving you complete freedom to choose a faucet style that matches your existing bathroom hardware and personal design preferences. The package does include the bathtub, a chrome-finish brass pop-up drain, and a matching overflow cover.
The Shaia offers a soaking depth of 14.8 inches to the overflow, providing a deeply immersive bathing experience. The total water capacity is 53 gallons, which allows for full-body immersion and a true spa-like soak. These generous proportions are designed for restorative relaxation after long days.
The Shaia arrives fully assembled, so no assembly is required. Installation involves connecting the included drain and overflow to your plumbing and positioning the tub. The adjustable self-leveling base makes it easy to achieve a stable, level fit even on uneven bathroom floors, simplifying the installation process significantly.
The Shaia is crafted from high-quality acrylic with a smooth, non-porous surface. This material is stain-resistant, scratch-resistant, and lightweight yet durable enough to withstand everyday use. Acrylic also retains heat effectively, keeping your bathwater warm longer for more comfortable soaks.
The glossy, non-porous acrylic surface requires only simple cleaning to maintain its showroom-quality appearance. Use a soft cloth or sponge with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to wipe down the tub after use. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, or corrosive materials, as the warranty does not cover damage caused by improper maintenance.
As a true freestanding bathtub, the Shaia offers remarkable placement flexibility. You can position it as a dramatic room centerpiece, beneath a window, or against a feature wall—wherever it best suits your design vision. This versatility is one of the key advantages over wall-mounted alternatives.
The Shaia features an adjustable base with self-leveling legs that can be fine-tuned to accommodate uneven bathroom floors. You simply adjust the feet until the tub sits perfectly level and stable. This practical engineering feature ensures rock-solid stability during use and makes achieving professional-quality installation results straightforward.
The drain is center-placed on the bottom of the tub. The included chrome-finish brass pop-up drain and matching overflow cover are designed to complement the Shaia's contemporary aesthetic. Center drain placement is ideal for a freestanding oval design, as it allows comfortable reclining from either end of the tub.
Altair provides a limited one-year warranty on the Shaia bathtub. The warranty covers defects in quality construction and materials but excludes surface damage or scratches after installation, as well as issues resulting from negligence, misuse, improper installation, exposure to corrosive materials, hard water or mineral deposits, or failure to follow care and installation instructions.
