Want a real opinion?
Beyond the reviews — we'll share what owners love and the trade-offs to know.
The Altair Allegra measures 70.9 inches in length, 33.9 inches in width, and 25.6 inches in height. The soaking depth to overflow is 14.2 inches, providing a generous basin for full-body immersion. These dimensions make it ideal for spacious master bathrooms or any room where you want a dramatic freestanding focal point.
The Allegra is crafted from high-quality acrylic with a smooth, gloss finish. Acrylic is lightweight yet structurally sound, weighing only 77 pounds dry compared to much heavier cast iron alternatives. The non-porous surface is stain-resistant, scratch-resistant, and resists mineral deposits, ensuring long-lasting beauty with minimal maintenance.
No, the faucet is not included with the Allegra bathtub. This is intentional, giving you complete freedom to select fixtures that complement your personal style and bathroom design. The tub does come with a chrome-finish brass pop-up drain and an overflow cover included in the box.
The Allegra has a 48-gallon water capacity, providing a spacious and immersive soaking experience. When fully filled, the total weight of the tub plus water is approximately 477 pounds. Be sure your bathroom floor can support this weight, especially if installing on an upper level.
The Allegra arrives fully assembled and ready to install—no assembly of the tub itself is required. Installation involves positioning the tub, leveling it using the adjustable self-leveling feet, and connecting the plumbing to the center-positioned drain and overflow. While many handy homeowners can handle the setup, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper plumbing connections.
The Allegra features innovative adjustable feet that can be turned to raise or lower each corner independently. This allows you to achieve accurate leveling on virtually any floor surface, even if there are minor imperfections or slight slopes. Proper leveling ensures stability during use and correct drainage when the tub is emptied.
The drain is center-positioned on the bottom of the tub. It features a chrome-finish brass pop-up mechanism for easy operation—simply press to close and press again to open. The center placement allows for comfortable reclining from either end of the oval basin.
The non-porous acrylic surface requires only routine cleaning with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleanser to maintain its pristine white appearance. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, or corrosive cleaning agents, as these can damage the finish. The stain-resistant and scratch-resistant properties protect against soap residue and hard water marks, so regular gentle cleaning is all that's needed.
One of the key advantages of acrylic construction is that the surface feels warm to the touch, unlike traditional cast iron or porcelain tubs that can deliver a cold shock when you first step in. The acrylic material also helps retain heat, keeping your bathwater warmer for longer during extended soaking sessions.
Altair provides a limited one-year warranty that covers defects in materials and craftsmanship. The warranty does not cover incidental surface damage or scratches after installation, nor does it cover issues resulting from negligence, misuse, improper installation, hard water or mineral deposits, exposure to corrosive materials, or failure to follow care and installation instructions. Be sure to follow all included documentation for proper setup and maintenance to keep your warranty valid.
